Alaska Nautical School is a maritime training school. We specialize in preparing the students to responsibly navigate vessels safely and prudently, and to be in compliance with the requirements of the United States Coast Guard and the Code of Federal Regulations. All of our courses are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The typical candidates for a Coast Guard License are people who intend to haul passengers for hire. In order to qualify for: 6-Pack and up to 100 GT Masters, Limited OUPV Guide Restricted to the Freshwaters and Rivers of Western Alaska, OUPV Near Coastal or an Upgrade to 200 GT Master, must meet  the USCG prerequisites for obtaining a Coast Guard License (meeting the prerequisites are not needed to take our classes, all we require is a picture I.D.).

WE ARE LOCATED IN MID-TOWN ANCHORAGE IN THE AMERICAN LEGION BLDG.

WE OFFER REDUCED RATES ON C.G. REQUIREMENTS AND MOTEL FEES.

WE ARE LOCATED CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT AND WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO    FOOD & SHOPPING CENTERS.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion from Alaska Nautical School. Presenting our certificate to the USCG, and meeting the qualifications outlined in the USCG licensing packet, are all that is needed to get a USCG License. You do not need to go to the Coast Guard office, you can mail your application in. We furnish all C.G. forms and give detailed instructions on how to fill them out. No further testing by the USCG is required. Students are responsible for all Coast Guard Application fees. The Licenses are issued by the 100 ton masters traing & testing course textbook Coast Guard.

Along with individual instruction during regular classroom hours, Alaska Nautical School will offer free tutoring each day after class for those students having difficulties with any portion of the class.

Alaska Nautical School furnishes all materials and supplies needed to complete all of our courses. There is no need for students to buy books or supplies for class. Our workbooks cover all the subjects required to meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the USCG for all of our courses:  6-Pack and up to 100 GT Masters, OUPV Guides on the Freshwaters and Rivers of Western Alaska, OUPV Near Coastal, and Upgrade to 200 GT Masters.
